# PD Consortium > A consortium of accounting firms in Ontario that share one planned season of > professional development. The programme is built against the requirements CPA > Ontario sets, delivered live by senior presenters, and recorded as credited hours > for each person and firm. PD Consortium is a group purchase. A single firm is usually too small to fund a full season of quality presenters at a good price per person, so firms buy a season together and share the cost. The consortium plans the programme, books and briefs the presenters, runs every course, and reports attendance. Firms decide who attends. ## What is sold - A season of 13 live courses, about 39 hours of verifiable CPD (9 courses also offered), across the fall season. - The calendar is built around the group's busy periods, away from filing deadlines. - Sold as seats. One seat is one person's place for the whole season. - Topic areas: public practice, assurance, ethics, tax, technology. - Live courses with question time, materials, and recordings for anyone who misses one. - Attendance records and reporting for each person and for the firm. ## Who it is for Accounting firms in Ontario, Canada, typically 5 to 150 professionals. The buyer is usually a partner or practice manager responsible for the firm's CPD. Firms too small to run their own programme benefit most, and are grouped with similar firms. Ontario only. PD Consortium Inc. is registered in Ontario and does not trade in other provinces or countries. ## Price CAD 600 to 800 per person per season, which is from about $50 per person per course at the larger end. The rate per seat improves as the consortium grows. There is no per-firm fee. Seats can be added during a season. A consortium is capped at about 500 seats so that attendees can still reach the presenter and ask questions. ## Track record - Running a season every year since 1989, with no season missed. - 270+ courses delivered. - 6,000+ professionals accredited over that history, by CPA Ontario. - 23 member firms. - 95%+ of firms renew each year. ## Attendee evaluations From 4,406 evaluations across 24 courses, September 2024 to February 2026: - 98% rate the online format at least as good as attending in person. - 71% prefer it to attending in person. - 96% rate quality of instruction Very Good or Excellent. - 98% would attend another course by the same presenter. ## The CPD requirement this addresses CPA Ontario requires 20 hours a year, 10 of them verifiable, and 120 hours over each three-year period with 60 verifiable, including 4 verifiable hours of professional ethics. Declarations are due 1 June. Requirements are set and audited by CPA Ontario: https://www.cpaontario.ca/members/regulations-guidance/continuing-professional-development PD Consortium is NOT a CPA Ontario approved or accredited provider, and does not claim to be. CPA Ontario sets the requirements and accredits its members. This programme schedules learning against those requirements and reports attendance. ## PD Consortium and Attendell are different things This distinction is easy to get wrong, and both errors matter. - **PD Consortium** is one consortium: accounting firms, Ontario, with its own history back to 1989. It holds the firm relationships and sets the commercial terms. It does not serve other professions or other provinces. - **Attendell** is the provider that runs the programme: the platform, the live delivery, the administration and the attendance reporting. Attendell works across professions and countries. It is a provider, not licensable software. So: the 1989 history, the 23 firms and the season parameters belong to PD Consortium. Multi-profession and multi-country reach belongs to Attendell. Attendell cites this programme as a client case study; it does not claim its age. ## Pages - https://pdconsortium.com/: what the consortium does, how a season works, the proof, the price. - https://pdconsortium.com/cpa-ontario-cpd: the CPD requirement, and how a season covers it. - https://pdconsortium.com/the-programme: the season in detail, topic areas, presenters, reporting. - https://pdconsortium.com/pricing: how consortium pricing works and why the group is capped. - https://pdconsortium.com/about: the history since 1989, how the consortium is run, who runs it. - https://pdconsortium.com/contact: how to reach us. ## Contact admin@pdconsortium.com / +1 (416) 306-2072.
