The consortium states what it needs. Our curriculum lead designs against that, commissions the presenters and sets the calendar. Firms send their people and receive the records.
How a programme is built
Four steps, completed before a single course is confirmed
The consortium is surveyed
Every firm states what its people need covered and where it is behind. The curriculum lead works from those answers rather than from a catalogue.
Scope and calendar are settled
The group determines how many courses it wants and when they run, positioned around its own working year so nothing lands in a filing period.
The curriculum lead designs it
Subject areas are sequenced so the compliance mix resolves over the period, with ethics placed early rather than left to the final year.
Presenters are commissioned and briefed
Specialists are selected for each subject, briefed on what the group asked for, and their material reviewed before a course is confirmed.
Most consortia run across the fall season. A group may fill it or commission a small number of courses, and it settles that before the design work begins. How a programme maps to your requirement
What is taught
Five areas an Ontario practice works across
Weighting shifts each year with what the group asks for. Tax is timed to the filing calendar, and ethics is placed early so the three-year requirement is satisfied well before it falls due.
- Public practice
- The issues that come up in practice management, client work and professional standards.
- Assurance
- Audit and review engagements, quality management, and documentation that stands up to inspection.
- Ethics
- The verifiable ethics hours CPA Ontario requires every three years, scheduled so nobody is counting in May.
- Tax
- Personal, corporate and cross-border developments, timed to the filing year.
- Technology
- The tools changing practice work, and the risks that arrive with them.
Who presents
Presenters are practitioners, and most of them return each year
Our curriculum lead knows this field and knows who teaches it well. Credentials are checked and material reviewed before a course is confirmed. Presenters are treated as long-term appointments, which is the part of a programme a catalogue cannot reproduce.
Attendees are asked to rate every course. The figures beside this are what they said about the teaching.

Standard inclusions
Eight things arrive with every consortium we run
Subject matter, weighting and size vary between consortia. The list beside this holds across all of them.
- A curriculum designed to the consortium's stated requirements
- Presenters selected, briefed and reviewed before each course
- Seat-based access, with the firm controlling who holds one
- Question time and course material with every course
- Recordings, which count as participation for anyone absent
- Attendance recorded for every individual holding a seat
- Firm-level reporting throughout, rather than at the end
- Support for your people for as long as a programme runs
Reporting
The record assembles itself while a programme runs
Attendance is observed and reconciled course by course, so a firm collects nothing. A partner sees the firm’s position at any point, and a shortfall becomes a conversation in November while there are still courses left to attend.
Participation is human and imperfect. Where a record looks wrong it is reviewed and corrected, because the purpose of it is evidence.

Ethics is tracked on its own because CPA Ontario requires 4 verifiable hours every three years and never reduces it. A total-hours view would report the last row as compliant.
